The pilot finds Det. Alex Gage (Spano) dealing with guilt in the wake of his partner's murder by the Russian mob---a murder Gage witnessed. Meanwhile, single mother Nina Echeverria (Hargitay) poses as an arms dealer doing business with South American revolutionaries; and expectant father James Tasio (Monoson) finds himself torn between his obligation to his family and his duty to his partner.

Gage continues his work with the Russian mob, despite his lingering grief over Renaldo's death; Tasio is called in from his vacation to protect a Turkish diplomat from a potential assassin.

An undercover operative in a local militia has fallen under the sway of the group's ideology.

To bring down a major drug importer Alex, Diane and Nina goes undercover to get him through a dealer and the guy who launders the money.

On a stakeout Jimmy and Diane discovers some dirty cops that they later have to bust, but one of them is a childhood friend of Jimmy's.

A mob member is about to elude prosecution unless they can find some hard evidence against him so he will turn against his crime family. Meanwhile, Tony shots a robber at his girlfriend's bar and his cover is compromised.
