"A game for those who seek to find a way to leave their world behind."
An animated series based on the book by Chris Van Allsburg and the 1995 feature film about a magical board game found by a brother and sister in the attic of their new home. It transports them to an alternate world filled with jungle perils, and leads them to make the fateful decision to try to find a way home for Alan, a man they meet who has been trapped there for over 20 years since he played the game as a boy.
The denizens of Jumanji include the big game hunter Van Pelt, who wants to mount everyone's heads on his wall; Trader Slick, who is always willing to get them thing they need at an exorbitant price; and the Manji, a native tribe who speak only in unintelligible grunts, clicks, buzzes and whistles. Back at home in Brantford, the kids' guardian is their Aunt Nora, a professional therapist.
At the start of each session, the game gives Judy and Peter a clue that they must solve in order to get back home. Also, each time Peter tells a fib (which is often) Jumanji transforms him into an animal of some kind for the duration of the game.
